POSITION FUNCTION:       

Under the general supervision of the Senior Vice President – Corporate Planning.  Sells mutual funds, fixed and variable annuities, individual stocks and bonds and insurance products to generate fee income for the bank.  Acts as liaison with bank branches to generate sales leads and cross-selling opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in securities sales

·        NASD Series 6 or 7, 63, 65/66, and life and health insurance license

·        Three to five years experience

·        Past investment and insurance sales experience

·        Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet programs and financial software

·        Public speaking skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.      Makes sales calls by phone and in person, through own contacts or from bank-generated leads.  Determines steps to achieve fee income budget and achieves monthly and annual goals.  Sells non-deposit investment products, including mutual funds, fixed and variable annuities, individual stock and bond trades, and life insurance and long-term care products.

2.      Generates referrals for personal investment sales opportunities and to cross-sell to other bank business lines.

3.      Develops sales and marketing initiatives to increase awareness of product offerings outside and inside the company.

4.      Provides referral and product training to non-licensed bank employees.

5.      Attends continuing education training and seminars.

6.      Files paperwork and reports.  Follows compliance of program and maintains various compliance files, including advertising, complaint and correspondence.

7.      Self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

8.      Keeps informed of industry product trends and issues.  Identifies, develops and implements improvements as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1.                  Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/ or related equipment.

2.                  Eye Coordination required to operate computer/teller terminal.

3.                  Drives to and attends meetings as required.

4.                  Moves around bank between levels or floors while performing duties.

5.                  Bending and stretching in work area.

6.                  Sitting at desk or computer work station for periods of time.

7.                  Lifts books, ledgers, records, etc.

8.                  Walks around bank location in the performance of duties.

9.                  Speaks and listens to customers and explains Bank services.
