Calnet is looking for some great Iraqi Advisors to join our team!
Iraqi Advisors work in close coordination with support units, the Strategic/Operations teams, Military Analysts and Advisors. They assist and advise military staff and commanders in planning operations and establishing mutual trust and understanding between the military and the Iraqi people. Provide analysis and recommendations regarding Iraqi political, social, economic, cultural, religious, tribal issues and other potentially newsworthy trends in the AOR. Act as a facilitator at meetings between the military and Iraqi officials as deemed appropriate. Iraqi Advisors, through their network, gather information from the local community regarding issues or events of local or regional significance, special events, and celebrations. They gather information on issues that are important to the Iraqi people; and the supported command. Iraqi Advisors provide interface between the Military Analyst and the LNAs. They are responsible for communications with the LNAs as well as translating any and all reporting from the LNAs in the field.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
· Advisors shall have a U.S. SECRET security clearance or an INTERIM U.S. SECRET security clearance. Advisors from a Coalition Nation shall have clearance for Coalition SECRET such that they are warranted Coalition classified access. Certain jobs may require only US Secret clearance – these will be identified by the US Government.
· Iraqi Advisors must possess a minimum of 5 years experience interacting in predominantly Iraqi communities as an adult. This may include college education, refugee camp time, and/or work in any field of endeavor, and must include at least two years of experience in Iraq itself.
· Advisors must communicate fluently in both English and Arabic and/or local dialects where assigned, verbally, typewritten, and in writing, without the aid of translation software (for example Google, Rosetta Stone, etc.) to include the ability to utilize an Arabic keyboard.
· Must possess significant tribal, political, religious, business and/or military connections in Iraq; preferably possess established ties within the area of operations.
Skills/Abilities Requirements:
· Iraqi Advisors must be able to understand both the American and Iraqi culture.
· They must be open-minded and committed to working towards a free and democratic Iraq and willing to support the efforts of U.S. military forces in Iraq.
· Advisors must be able to establish community and business contacts in the area of operations.
