As a senior underwriter, you are the highest-level underwriter designation within the underwriting team. In this role, you will underwrite and review submitted files to analyze for Capacity, Capital, Character and Condition. This includes ensuring that loan requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate. In addition, you will communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within JPMorgan Chase, uphold fair lending practices of JPMorgan Chase Mortgage, meet targets for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction, and perform second review of contract underwritten denials from all areas.
  

• Minimum of five years' experience as an underwriter


• Minimum of five years' mortgage experience


• Knowledge and proficiency in all levels of mortgage underwriting including Government (preferred), Agency and Jumbo (Super Jumbo lending a plus) 


• Prefer FHA DE government designation (VA Lapp and/or Auto a plus)


• College degree preferred


• Excellent analytical and decision making skills


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Strong negotiation skills


• Thorough knowledge of MI policies


• Strong supervisory skills


• Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and an expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis, including both cash flow and AGI methods
