JOB ACCOUNTANT

About the Job

Grunley Construction Company located in Rockville, MD is seeking qualified individuals for a Job Accountant position with our company.

 

Primary role is to act as a lead support person for the Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Job Cost and Subcontractors Accounts Payable functions for the company.  This position reports directly to the  Manager.

 

 This position requires a 4-year degree in Accounting.  3-5 years experience in a construction accounting environment and general accounting experience.   Basic skills for this position require knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the accounting disciplines of job cost, accounts receivable and general ledger.  In addition, this position should have a good understanding of Microsoft Office, excellent oral and written communication and have the ability to interact with all levels of personnel within and external to the company. Experience with Timberline software is preferred. 

 

Job Cost

·        Primarily responsible for the maintenance and research of all variances contained within the Job Cost reports for Company.

·        Prepare & distribute all monthly job cost reports to the Management team.

·        Enter subcontracts and joint venture information into Accounting Software -Timberline

·        Enter all change orders, back charges, estimate changes, to be awarded amounts, and projected adjustments into the Timberline system. Identify and resolve with the manager those previously mentioned documents that have any errors and omissions that need to be resolved.

·        Prepare & distribute the Missing C.O./BCE spreadsheet to the Senior Management team.

·        Prepare the close out package for all completed jobs in Timberline.

·        Assist in entering all direct cost entries into the Timberline system.

·        Train managers to read and use job cost reports

·        Assist in preparing various account analyses as needed.

·        Assist in preparing the Co.’s Financial Statements

·        Assist in the annual audit of the Co.’s books with the independent auditors

      ·        Other duties as assigned
