BNA, a wholly employee-owned publisher of legal and regulatory information seeks a Junior Systems Administrator to coordinate production work within a multi-platform integrated operations environment. Serve as Technical Operations Division (TOD) liaison to the user departments.
Monitor BNA web sites; perform routine staging and posting of BNA products to web servers; provide first level diagnosis and fault resolution to maintain high availability of BNA’s web products and services; coordinate production workflow with TOD and provide technical and nontechnical assistance to TOD management; and analyze, recommend, and implement changes and adjustments in production workflow to provide better service and/or reduce TOD expenditures.
3 years’ experience with operating systems in an MS-Windows Server and/or Unix environment and some experience in a client server, e-commerce, or publishing environment; experience in a production environment with Microsoft or Unix web services, ASP, and .NET administration and support preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical users; and ability to work independently and multitask. Associates degree in computer science. Industry certification in system or network administration preferred.
Primary hours are weekends and holidays (Fri, Sat, Sun, & Mon) 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Flexibility for occasional overtime.
