We have an immediate need for a Java Developer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall Purpose
Provides development and maintenance of online transaction and batch processing applications of new or enhanced products.
Essential Functions
- The design, development, and maintenance of high volume, high performance, batch processing applications.
- The design, development, and maintenance of high volume, high performance, high availability, online transaction processing applications.
- May assist in determining estimates for all project activities and reviews the status of the projects on a regular basis and reports any potential changes to management.
- Prepares Detail Design Documents from Functional Requirements defining viable design approaches and ensures that project documentation is accurate and complete.
- May perform other duties as required.
- Complies with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of design development experience and advanced knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies.
- A combination of experience with the following technologies is required: MVC web application frameworks (Struts or JSF), JAAS, JMS, JNDI, Drools, SQL, XML, Log4J, Hibernate, TopLink, PL/SQL, XQuery, JAXP, AXIS.
- Development of multi-threaded applications
- Development of n-tier applications
- Strong knowledge of Oracle and/or MS SQL Server
- Experience with unit testing tools
- Experience with source code revision control (specifically Version Manager)
- Strong object-oriented analysis and design
- Performance tuning experience within Oracle database
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Approved background and drug screening required.
