Java Developers

Be part of a quickly expanding organization in New York, NY....Client has 3 Java Developer openings.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high volume transactional applications for the Company. Strong application development and analytical (i.e. requirements gathering) skills, as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly, based on prior experiences with similar tools, is required.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain middleware applications.
• Develop functional and technical documentation on assigned projects.
• Work in a team environment in supporting the team goals, and improving software engineering practices.
• Estimate software development efforts on assigned projects and meet them.
• Analyze and optimize applications for maximum performance.
• Work closely with internal clients to achieve business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• BS CS/Engineering or equivalent degree.
• 3+ years experience developing applications in a J2EE environment.
• Experience using Java Application Server (JBoss preferred), JUnit, SQL, Eclipse, SOAP, and XML.
• Experience using the following technologies would be a plus: EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI, iBatis, Servlets, EDI, TCP, UDP, UML, LDAP, SQL Server, and .NET.
• Expertise in Object Oriented design.
• Working knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience with version control systems (Subversion preferred).
• Strong problem analysis and solving skills.
• Able to independently design, code, and test application features.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The willingness to learn and keep up with new technologies.
