Organization Objective/Purpose:
Schwab Web Solutions is charted to provide high quality common web solutions for all Schwab clients including advisors, individuals and active investors. Web Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to become part of the team.  


Brief Description of Role:
Web Solutions is seeking an experienced Software Application Engineer to become a member of a team that will continue to deliver for Charles Schwab's client facing websites. As a member of the Web Solutions engineering Team, the role is to actively participate in all areas that relates to developing and deploying the web applications.  The Software Application Engineer will be required to understand the business and functional requirements in order complete a full development cycle, from technical documentation, development, testing and deploying the product.  This includes working independently and as part of team.  The Software Application Engineer should possess a keen knowledge, desire, and demonstrated ability to produce world-class and scalable software product using the most advanced development technologies.


Technical/Functional Qualifications:
Responsibilities:


- Assume a technical leadership role for the areas or projects assigned to, this includes taking ownership, mentor and guide other team members, fully engage with the extended engineering team provided by our off-shore partners.


- Participate and drive the design and implementation of products using Schwab standard web technologies and actively engage with business partners and stakeholders to complete and fully understand the business requirements from inception to completion.


- Participate in and drive various software engineering projects using object-oriented methodology and component based architecture as while adhering to the company security and technology standards.


- Must be able to actively participate in weekly development status meeting as well as ongoing product development design, review and integration meetings, be able to voice concerns and advise on possible resolutions.


- Must have the ability to work independently and with an extended, virtual team to deliver upon tasks in a timely manner


Qualifications:


- Demonstrated expertise in multiple phases of software product development, including Design, Development, Testing, and Support for QA and Deployment.


- At least 3+ professional experience of Java programming, J2EE and related technologies.


- At least 3+ professional experience of Web Content Management Systems.


- At least 3+ years of Object Oriented Design and Programming.


- At least 3+ years programming experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSL, XML, DOM, and Internet Explorer and other browsers behaviors. 


- At least 2+ years experience using UML CASE tools to document detailed component design.


- At least 2+ years of professional experience building distributed scalable enterprise-class applications using C# and ASP.Net.


- At least 1+ years experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server as a software asset management system.


- Demonstrated knowledge with software development methodologies such as RUP, Agile and Scrum.


- Demonstrated knowledge of, Microsoft Windows, Red Hat LINUX.


- Demonstrated knowledge of standard relational databases, such as  Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 or Oracle.


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.


- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.


- Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team.


- Good verbal and and written communication skills 


- Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations.
