Java Web Developer
About the Job
Candidate will work with minimal supervision to design, develop, test and implement web-based applications using Java in an Oracle environment. The candidate will work with business owners and team members to analyze business requirements, recommend appropriate design alternatives, and develop implementation plans.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
*All Candidates must be: U.S. Citizens, Green card holder, or EAD AND have 5 years U.S. residency AND cannot have traveled outside the U.S. more than 6 months over a 5 year period.
Responsibilities:
- Perform applications development using Java in an Oracle 10g environment
- Develop utilizing Oracle Spatial technology
- Analyze business processes and develop functional/technical requirements
- Develop and deploy in a multi-tiered and multi-server application environment
- Analyze, design, and optimize data models
- Create dynamic front-end interfaces
- Analyze defects/changes to determine solutions
- Develop Oracle PL/SQL code
Qualifications:
Three (3) to five (5) years experience in:
- Application design, development, testing, and deployment of database driven Java applications
- User interface / presentation layer development using JSP, JavaScript, CSS, XML and HTML
- Backend architecture and development
- Full life cycle development of enterprise level applications
- Object oriented principles and concepts
Other Required Experience:
- Data modeling
- UNIX and/or SuSE LINUX, including shell scripts and CRON or ControlM jobs
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, think outside the box, and develop innovative solutions
Desired Experience:
- GIS / Location Based web application development
- WebSphere application server
- Oracle Spatial technology including Oracle MapViewer / Map Builder
- ColdFusion
- Subversion and Dimensions
