JOB CAPTAIN

Position Description:

Fast-paced, energetic, national construction services firm seeks to fill Job Captain positions.  Job Captains will work side by side with the Director of Architectural Services and/or Project Management team as their conduit to the production staff.  Some Job Captains will work as architectural survey managers to support all survey program efforts, including coordination in the field and client interface for up to 40 surveyors.   All Job Captains will be required to manage projects as well as be hands-on with the design and modeling.

·         Create client specific drawing templates utilizing Revit/BIM and AutoCAD.

·         Maintain and implement client standards

·         Implement  and manage QA process

·         Responsible for understanding and implementing project specific design and program requirements

·         Resource assignments

·         Direct oversight of 3-6 draftsmen and field surveyors

·         Development and coordination of program schedules

·         Responsible for communication and file exchanges with consultants

·         Attend all client based training.

·         Train draftsman and surveyors

·         Responsible for completion of deliverables, work in BIM as necessary to get the task done.

Position Requirements:

The position requires management skills, production know how, and a sense of ownership/ responsibility for all of the products that are produced by the department.

·         Minimum 5-7 years experience in Architectural/Pre Construction Services.

·         Minimum of 2 years Progressive Management experience.

·         Lead Draftsman Background preferred.

·         Site Survey and Development experience preferred.

·         Experience with permit expediting and architectural planning preferred.

·         Associates degree or certificate from CAD Training tech school.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Advanced computer skills, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project.

·         Revit experience a must, version 8 and higher.

·         Autocad experience a must, version 2004 and higher.

·         Proven ability to produce construction documents.

·         Must have a valid drivers license.
