ROLE SUMMARY

Working within the Reliability Maintenance environment, performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, and maintains company machinery systems and provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc.). Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology, project scope and follow up). Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Machine Repair person is required to read and understand drawings / blueprints, utilizing this knowledge for the installation / repair of new and existing equipment. This job requires the use of precision measuring devices; the ability to repair glass lined and glass coated equipment; and the ability to properly install pumps, agitators, and mechanical seals. The Machine Repair person is required to work with precision bearings, electric motor gearing, gearboxes, packaging machinery and related equipment. A basic knowledge of machining principles is required.
  • Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner.
  • Develop solutions to routine problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures. Communication in developing and implementing solutions is critical.
  • Participates in multi-craft work activities as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  •  High school diploma / general education degree (GED) or Associates Degree.  Manager will consider Licensed Journeyman Machine Repair, Licensed Journeyman Machine Builder or License Journeyman Millwright.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer user skills (Microsoft systems).
  • Blue print reading a plus
  • Electrical diagram reading is a plus
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems is a plus
  • Excellent communications Skills
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Self-Starter with ability to work independently.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, noisy, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting.  The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Operating Procedures is a must.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required.
