Genji, Inc. is a fast growing company that is well-known for its all natural, fresh and nutritious Japanese-inspired cuisine. We operate over 100 sushi bars in 18 different states, and London within Whole Foods Market locations.  We are currently seeking an Applications Developer for our Headquarters location in Philadelphia, PA.

The Applications Developer reports directly to the IT & Property Manager.  A successful candidate will possess the ability to evaluate, review and manage office applications and macros while providing programming and data support to company staff.  The Administrator is also responsible for helping to develop database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases daily and their accompanying software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Support database systems for highly available applications

·          Develop applications and macros while applying best practices

·          Respond quickly to critical support issues

·          Communicate regularly with development and support teams regarding database status and changes

·          Interact with other departments on data needs and associated capture 

·          Work with development teams to evaluate and recommend new database technologies and features

·          Develop database technology standards and associated documentation

·          Work with the network and security teams to ensure database adherence to security standards

·          Ensure that customer SLAs are met at all times

·          Maintain and improve disaster recovery plans

REQUIREMENTS:

·          AS in Computer Science with 3-5 years experience in a related field or BS with 1-3 years experience

·          Extensive experience with MS SQL Server

·          Strong VBA and Transact SQL Skills

·          Experience with data capture and transformation

·          Strong written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Skills:

·         MS SQL Server 2008

·         Java or C#/.NET

·         BI Experience with MS Reporting Service or Business Objects Edge

·         SharePoint Development
