Job Description: Interior Designer

 

Job Summary:  Established Chicago Interior Design Firm seeks an Interior Designer for its models/contract department.  Candidate should have a minimum of three years work experience in the interior design industry – experience with model and contract work is preferred.  Candidates should demonstrate a keen design sense, and a desire to learn and participate in the complete process.

 

Responsibilities Include:

·         Project design

• Initial gathering of design elements based on project specifications
  
• Fabric selection
  
• Furnishing selection
  
• Accessory selection
  
• Finish, paint and wallpaper selection
  
• Verify all selection pricing and availability
  
• Order entry
  
• Prepare packages and manage correspondence for project client and suppliers/vendors
  
• Assist with layouts: electrical, furniture, lighting, etc.
  
• Assist with organization of installations
  
• Accompany Senior Designer on all installations
  
• Assemble photo specification book for client
  
• Assemble project inventory book for client
  
• Provide support to Senior Designer and Account Executive
