Job Title
Junior Engineer Progression Program
Purpose
Entry level engineer to participate in the Junior Engineer Progress Program (“JEPP”) is to ensure the development of qualified and experienced engineers to fill vacant positions within the GDF SUEZ Energy Generation and other GDF SUEZ entities in the future.
JEPP participants will progress through a rigorous four (4) year curriculum. During this four (4) year curriculum, the candidate will be exposed to plant operations and maintenance activities, engineering and other job functions in SEMNA, SERNA, Project Advisory or Business Development.
Once the JEPP participant completes the four (4) year curriculum, he/she should be capable of assuming managerial responsibilities within the GDF SUEZ Energy Generation organization.

Job Functions
Essential Functions
Qualify as an equipment operator and a control room operator or in Reservoir and River Flow Management Procedures.
Qualify in one craft discipline: Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument & Controls.
Plan an outage and participate as a team member in the outage.
Become an active member in the plant’s Safety Committee.
Become proficient in Predictive Maintenance techniques: borescope, thermography, vibration, electrical apparatus testing, etc.
Orchestrate the development of an annual budget.
Complete an assigned engineering project as the project manager.
Perform an ASME-based performance test at one of the power generating facilities.
Work in the environmental area, participate in a facility audit, RATA certification/test, or other regulatory activity (e.g., permit renewal), submittal of quarterly reports, SARA Title III, etc.
Participate in a Root Cause Failure Analysis as an active member of an investigating team.

Operate a computer terminal utilizing word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
Work on a rotating shift schedule. Shift work, overtime, and standby status are required.
Essential Physical Abilities
Ability to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment, accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges (must have eyesight corrected to 20/40), and communicate clearly on portable radios.
Ability to perform demanding work at high heights. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and enter confined spaces as required to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to work under adverse ambient conditions; hot and cold.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight.
Ability to pass a respirator physical and fit test.
Valid driver’s license required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, science or mathematics related discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
2 years or less experience.
Must apply for and pass EIT requirements and ASOPE 3rd Class license within the first two years in the program.
Must be willing to relocate at least twice during the program.
