The Primary responsibilities of this position are to increase sales and distribution of UNFI products while acting as an interface between Field Sales and Sales Management.  Profitable sales, expense control and product distribution will be the primary accountability being measured.

Essential Job Functions:

• Focus on strong category management and respond in a timely manner to all opportunities to present new and existing product lines to customers
• Prepare and execute business plans for accounts that include short, mid and long term goals for brand building including presentation of key account business reviews
• Management of Approved Product List, including additions & Deletions, Promotions and EDI price file maintenance
• Ability to quickly develop key relationships with vendors and brokers as well as account management and UNFI resource associates.
• Follow-thru on Key Account plans & objectives with reaching budgeted net sales and cost objectives
• Effective communication of all programs with field sales team along with timely communication of business needs and opportunities to key Sales
• Interact closely with marketing, sales, finance and all other internal customers
• Maintain safe work practices, solid attendance and the integrity of confidential company information

Minimum Requirements:

Requirements for this position include, but are not limited to: Associate or Bachelor degree preferred with 2+ years of key account experience or 4 years of sales experience in the Specialty and or Natural and Organic CPG or DSD Supermarket.  Proficient in MS Office required.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to multi-task. Sound presentation skills and strong negotiation skills a must.  Excellent interpersonal abilities with outstanding customer service techniques allowing for the development of strong business relationships.  Must have experience in Category Management and ability to effectively manage a staff of two. Must be well organized, motivated and able to recognize and support UNFI philosophy. Candidates must also pass a post-employment offer drug screen and criminal background check.
