The Knowledge Management Program Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation and ongoing optimization of global knowledge management solutions for Honeywell Building Solutions, with the mission of "leveraging what we know" to accelerate growth and profitability of Honeywell Building Solutions.



Key responsibilities include:



Taxonomy and Content Management



 Design and implement HBS-wide knowledge taxonomy with stakeholder input and prudent ongoing governance.

 Ensure relevance, accuracy, timeliness and usability of HBS Knowledge Base content across multiple domain libraries.

 Manage the ongoing content development, validation, editing/publishing and archiving of HBS-wide knowledge base libraries.



Tools & Systems

 Develop system requirements for Knowledge Management, Search & Reuse, Content Management, and Collaboration solutions with stakeholder input and informed by industry best practices.

 Collaborate with IT and related technology partners/providers to select, design, develop and implement appropriate tools and sustainable KM infrastructure.

 Manage configuration, user roles & permissions, administration, user support, fixes and enhancements with support from IT and related technology partners/providers.

 Develop and implement templates for structured content creation, content mining, life cycle management, user feedback, and so on.

 Ensure effective system documentation.



Process & Methodology

 Design and implement best practice methodology for taxonomy development, content creation, content management, knowledge gathering/sharing, and collaboration capabilities.

 Define roles, responsibilities and best practices for key constituents such as KM core team members, KM specialists, editors/publishers, content domain owners/SMEs, contributors, consumers, IT partners and business leaders.



Organizational Alignment and Adoption
 Ensure full stakeholder participation in the design and implementation of KM solutions

 Ensure HBS-wide stakeholder alignment by facilitating executive sponsors, KM Steering Committees, Subject Matter Expert (SME) communities and KM User Communities

 Provide user training on tools, processes, methodologies as needed

 Evangelize KM solutions and best practices to support a knowledge-driven business culture

 Monitor key KM metrics and drive continuous improvement to optimize business impact of KM initiatives



Team Leadership

 Lead the KM core team to implement best practices for knowledge management, content management, and collaboration.

 Recruit and develop KM specialists.

 Build KM core team with strong individual talent and overall team effectiveness.

 Manage objectives, deliverables, resources and budget.

 Recruit, train, and leverage subject matter experts (SMES) across domain areas to author, review, and approve content.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or (15 years experience) and 10 years of professional experience in relevant field such as business, IT, technical writing, library science or organization development.

  • 3 years experience in project management, business/IT interface, and business process improvement.

  • 3 years expertise in content management discipline.

  • 1 year experience in technical settings such as building automation, engineering or IT industries.

  • Must be able to travel and handle evening & weekend work hours as needed in a globally distributed work environment.



Preferred Qualifications:

 
  • Successful experience leading cross-functional Initiative in large global organizations with emphasis on business process improvement, cultural transformation as well as technology adoption.

  • Familiarity with collaboration and/or Web2.0 technologies.

  • Aptitude to understand and communicate complex technical content.

  • Highly motivated and dedicated professional. Resourceful, integrative thinker with global mindset and intense focus on driving for results.

  • Effective communication, ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience as an Information Architect, or Knowledge Management Leader

  • Experience managing knowledge base, communities of practice, or content management solutions.

  • Advanced education in related disciplines such as IT, organization development, or library science.

  • Successful experience in team leadership and people management
