Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Specialist for the West Virginia territory.
Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc. provides in vitro diagnostic products to hospital, commercial and clinical laboratories, and blood donor centers. Its products include reagents and instrument systems used in blood typing an d donor testing ; clinical chemistry determinations and immunoassays for disease diagnosis and therapy management; as well as RhoGAM, an injectable drug used to prevent hemolytic disease of the newborn.
The Laboratory Specialist will routinely interface and build rapport with all appropriate levels within the laboratory. Perform system verification for all OCD products to include calibration, precision and accuracy, patient correlation, test of record, etc. Provide training and trouble- shooting support for current and new accounts in assigned territory. The Laboratory Specialist will also be the primary field liaison with technical organization with red alert -customer escalation situations. Explain the benefits of OCD products and services to promote maximum use by current customer base for all franchises. Responsible for support of customer satisfaction and proactive involvement in customer problem solving and grows share in the account. Provide assistance, as required, for customer and business needs. Comply with all OCD policies and procedures.
Interact constructively with customers in challenging situations. Understand all OCD products, services, and systems. Operate and proactively participates in team selling environment.
Understands market and key industry trends. Have a basic technical understanding of customer resolution, R&D, and manufacturing processes. Maximize OCD product performance and remains up to date with the customers' environment.

Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with concentration in Medical Technology or similar science concentration is required. A minimum of two years of experience as a Medical Technologist or related experience is required. Advanced Technical Certification or experience is also desired. Previous Blood Banking experience is preferred. Experience working with or training individuals on laboratory equipment. A Valid US Driver's License is required. Experience as a Chemistry/Blood Bank Supervisor or Laboratory Manager and/or Specialist is desired. Approximately 75% travel will be required for this position. This position will be based in West Virginia.
