About the Job

Job Summary:  Evaluate, select, order, install, and support the hardware and software for the hospital’s computer networks, server infrastructure, and remote access.

 

Qualifications:  At least three years working with a complex personal computing network.

Knowledge:    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or healthcare related field preferred. (Experience may substitute for education, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator a plus.) At least three years in personal computer network environment with working knowledge of personal computer local area networks (LAN) and Microsoft Windows networking operating systems. Experience with Microsoft products including Windows Server NT, 2000, 2003, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL;  Experience with routers switches, cabling, KVM, network protocols, and routing protocols.

 

Skills: Written and verbal communication skills; solid interpersonal skills and the willingness and desire to work in a team environment.  Must be a self-starter and able to use own judgement; initiative to undertake activities with minimal supervision; Accuracy and attention to detail. Prepare and implement procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Demonstrates excellent customer service to both internal and external customers through positive communications, cooperation, professional behavior, and displaying by actions that customer satisfaction is the primary goal of this institution.

·    Adapts to constantly changing healthcare environment by recognizing opportunities

      for improvement and embracing change to bring about improvements.  Exercises

·    Complies with all policies, procedures and related protocols as established by the

      department and/or the organization.

 

·        Works with guidance from Director Information Services  to implement new systems and maintain existing systems.

·        Conducts computer network(s) installation, maintenance, and operations.

·        Conducts server installation, maintenance installation, maintenance, and operations including OS level and application patches.

·        Implement required policies and procedures for use of the computer network(s).

·        Prepare and provide functional and technical training on computer applications and programs.

·        Plan, provide for, and maintain both in-house and outbound access to and from our network(s) and computer systems. Provides support for physician offices, clinics and nursing homes.

·        Responsible for managing and performing daily backups for all server and network infrastructure.

·        Assist and/or train Information Services Hardware Support Technicians in establishing a support and maintenance system for computer hardware and software.

·        Assist and/or train Information Services staff in computer hardware, software, and network wiring installation.

·        Availability during off-hours in support of unscheduled and critical network outages.

·        Takes call for IS Department as scheduled.
