LANDesk System Administrator


 


Wawa’s Information Technology Department is recruiting for the position of LANDesk System Administrator. This individual will be responsible for developing and managing package distribution including application, patches and operating systems leveraging LANDesk; facilitating operating systems and software monitoring in respect to license and version control; managing, escalating and resolving more complex technology service issues; facilitating issue resolution between internal IT teams and external IT business partners; managing support solutions and applications to resolve operational, performance and support issues; and facilitating the development of standard operating procedures and processes for support entities for LANDesk across both the corporate and store technology environments.


 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


1.         Assist business and technology teams in development, communication and alignment of standard operating procedures as well as in research efforts on new technology as appropriate.


2.         Design, develop and manage operating system and application patch testing in adherence to defined processes and best practices; remediate possible issues with patch distribution.


3.         Develop, test and document support procedures for LANDesk infrastructure and supporting service level agreements


4.         Review recommended changes to infrastructure and technology components to ensure they are necessary and non-service interrupting.


5.         Actively participate in IT departmental change control process and facilitate communication of outcomes to all members of the team.


6.         Develop, implement and maintain asset management policies and procedures.


7.         Assist external vendors and Wawa support teams on problem resolution where applicable.


8.         Analyze data from call tracking systems and various management platforms to proactively identify and resolve issues.


9.         Produce weekly reports on service issues, implementation schedules or potential impact to operations as the result of projects or maintenance issues.


10.       Facilitate timely and accurate technical support for all service interruptions or performance issues.


 


What you’ll need to be successful:


•          Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a technical discipline (e.g., engineering) or significant related work experience


•          3 -5 years of related work experience   


•          Good oral and written communication skills; proven track record of communicating issues to other teams or vendors


•          Strong system management solutions experience


•          Ability to be on-call 24/7 when required


•          Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the development of peers


•          Self-starter with high level of productivity and sense of ownership


•          Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to new situations


•          Good organization, time and stress management skills


•          Exposure to appropriate support and management solutions a plus.  Examples include:


         Avocent LANDesk


         Microsoft System Management Server (SMS)


         Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)


         Symantec Altiris


         CA Desktop Management


         Remedy


         BMC Desktop and Server Management


•          Microsoft certification(s) or equivalent experience using Microsoft Operating systems


•          A+ and Net+ certifications a plus


•          LANDesk certification (CLE) preferred


•          Ability to travel (e.g., stores and training centers)
