LANDesk System Lead
Wawa’s Information Technology Department is recruiting for the position of LANDesk System Lead. This individual will be responsible for managing, escalating and resolving complex LANDesk technology issues; participating in the design of new technical solutions based upon business requirements; facilitating issue resolution between internal IT teams and external IT business partners; designing and developing system management solution(s) and processes in accordance to ITIL, ISO and PCI standards; and leading a team of LANDesk engineers responsible for hardware/software asset management, inventory control, patch management, help desk, monitoring and software distribution.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Technical Knowledge
1. Technical consultant to plan, implement and support LANDesk technologies
2. Technical lead in the development, testing and implementation of LANDesk technology solutions
3. Research technology related solutions and make recommendations based on business or operational requirements. Anticipate potential issues/risks and address with associated mitigation steps.
System Management / Support
4. Analyze and define system configuration, hardware, software and associated utilities.
5. Integrate enterprise-wide tools for automating, monitoring and managing the current and future technology environments.
6. Establish a performance baseline; monitor system performance and tune for peak performance.
7. Administer, support and maintain infrastructure components. Troubleshoot high-level problems and document procedures to guide resolution process.
8. Develop, document, implement and maintain system management strategies, policies and procedures including security, support, training and installation procedures.
Projects
9. Work with project teams to plan new system and system enhancements necessary to address expanding business needs. Develop project plans to install, upgrade and manage systems and utility software.
10. Recommend, design, implement and support infrastructure integration into business solutions, while meeting the business goals and objectives. This includes supporting documentation and diagrams detailing the specific infrastructure
11. Drive medium size projects enlisting technical resources where necessary.
Process
12. Ensure the use of configuration management tools to prevent temporary or undocumented configuration changes; participate in change control process as required.
13. Provide support vendors (e.g., Agilysis) with documented procedures and training materials.
14. Inventory and asset management of appropriate infrastructure. Meet and establish working relationships with field engineers in order to establish clear communication paths. Provide leadership and continuous improvement of standards to enable a more customer focused, responsive support environment.
15. Develop production support model designed to enhance response times and maintain high availability of all production infrastructure components and systems
Leadership
16. Oversee the activities of Associates to ensure that each activity provides value through enhanced analyses, superior customer service and concise reporting. Examine and reengineer these activities and related business processes in order to facilitate reporting and meet established business requirements/guidelines. Make appropriate cost saving recommendations to leverage the financial strategic plan.
17. Perform audits as required to ensure PCI compliance
What you’ll need to be successful:
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a technical discipline (e.g., engineering) or related work experience
• 7+ years of related work experience
• Experience with operating system and application packaging and distribution solutions:
o Symantec Ghost
o Avocent LANDesk Deployment
• ITIL Certification and PCI Standards knowledge preferred
• Achieve certifications in appropriate strategic technologies. Examples include:
o Microsoft Certification MCSE
o LANDesk Certification (CLE)
o Wireless Certifications
o A+ Certification
o Network + Certification
o Citrix (CCA, CCEA, CCIA)
• Minimum of 3 years experience operating and managing in a10,000 + PC client server environment, with 40 or more Windows servers.
• Proven project management skills
• Experience leading medium size projects
