Position Description:
· Produce quality financial statements for license operators, adhering to the Internal Revenue Code and SUPERVALU policies and procedures; provide appropriate analysis of financial results to assigned retailers
· Prepare corporate, partnership and sole proprietor’s business income tax returns; prepare sales tax, property tax, business license returns and personal income tax returns as assigned; provide basic tax planning for all forms of entities based on actual and projected results
· Provide phone support for retailers; code weekly store reports/check registers; track potential Form 1099 recipients for year-end preparation; assist Accounting Clerks with bank reconciliations and store report processing when necessary
· Research accounting/tax issues and participate in department projects as needed
Qualifications/Skills:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; advanced degree and/or CPA preferred
· Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in Accounting; previous experience in a retail Accounting environment preferred
· Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Excel
· Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on influencing and building long-term relationships
· Must be customer-driven and a team player committed to developing partnerships and maintaining strong working relationships with other departments
· Demonstrated strengths in project management and team building
· Must be flexible and task-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Must be proactive, resourceful and action-oriented with the ability to get things done
Must be detail-oriented, able to independently identify and resolve issues and overcome obstacles
