Position Description:
The Smartlink Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for system development and day-to-day management of the Cornerstone Learning Management/Learning Content management system at Suddenlink Communications. This mission critical role is responsible for ensuring continuous operation of the LMS to serve the learning needs of all levels of Suddenlink staff. This position works closely with the IS departments, content developers, e-Learning, education & training staff, and customer service areas for all regions of the company.

Major Responsibilities

• Contribute to the ongoing development/implementation of the LMS infrastructure for Employee Development and Training, including needs assessments, communications, technical support and vendor management/interface.
• Maintain LMS system configuration and user interface look-and-feel.
• Daily management of tasks associated with the implementation and ongoing administration of the Smartlink Learning Content Management System (LMS)
• Works closely with the Corporate, Technical and Customer Service training leadership group in testing, publishing, and management of training content as Learning Objects.
• Upload or set up systems for uploading assessments, evaluations, and content to the LMS.
• Help create, manage, and enforce LMS system standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical support to internal LMS users.
• Monitor usage and performance of the LMS.
• Plan and coordinate LMS upgrades as required.
• Ensure availability of appropriate LMS reporting to managers and other designated individuals.
• Helps manage system maintenance updates, security updates, LMS/LCMS database maintenance, system backups.
• Work with other training staff to manage the catalog of online, blended and other learning resources, including scheduling.
• Work with IT to manage integration and data transfer of the LMS with other enterprise applications such as HR, Finance and network security.
• Act as secondary liaison between online learning management and staff developers and IS to ensure effective management and delivery of the LMS.
• Respond to LMS and training related inquiries generated via telephone and e-mail. Acts as primary interface for customer problem reports related to the LMS.
• Participates in the quality assurance process to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all information and data residing in the LMS.
• Responsible for online and offline LMS documentation changes as a result of LMS functionality enhancements.
• Coordinate periodic evaluation of LMS system functionality/fit and coordinate any periodic vendor bid events as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a software and/or networking technical support position.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a direct or supporting role to an HR or training organization using a learning or performance management application preferred.
• Knowledge of AICC and SCORM standards and implementation are a plus.
• E-content development software/utilities skills are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and analysis skills
• Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication (including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms), as well as project and time management skills are essential
• Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment
• Customer service mindset
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, staff, customers, and vendors
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as business requires
• Available for minimal overnight travel as business requires
