Learning Management System Admin (contract w/ possibility for perm)

This LMS Admin is primarily responsible for: providing first level technical, administrative and coordination support. The administrator will set up and manage the LMS structure required for new tracking codes according to various role group mappings and certification programs.  They will also upload training content and test, as needed.


 


Responsibilities:




  • Set up new online and instructor-led courses in the LMS



  • Announce new classes and course availability


  • Test online course links across IT-supported platforms


  • Provide course and logistics management and support for class offerings



  • Support the administration of the Systems Operation’s activities Learning Management system including:



  • Provide level 1 help desk support, e.g., log in and navigational problems


  • Publish, test, and maintain content, session, and course catalogue structure


  • Post learning content/objects to catalogue


  • Manage course rosters as required to support batch registration, or exception registration of participants onto courses


  • Generate Reports, Create standard and custom reports


  • Work closely with Corporate LMS Administrators to support Systems Operation’s LMS activities such as system maintenance, user access, and data integrity

 


Requirements:




  • Must have BS/BA in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology or related field


  • Strong background in HTML and authoring software


  • Worker bee and a little bit strategic


  • Experience in a fast-paced, team environment


  • Strong customer support or service skills, computer skills


  • 2-3 years of experience with LMSs within a training group


  • Understanding of the Microsoft OS and Office Applications:



    • XP Operating System Basic


    • Word, Excel, & PowerPoint- Intermediate


    • Outlook- Intermediate


  • Excellent understanding of Internet Explorer (NetScape & Mozilla)


  • Experience with SCORM compliance


  • Strong communication skills - who can professionally and effectively communicate with people from different levels of the organization, customers, and instructors


  • Excellent team player but must also be able to work independently


  • Flexible, delivery focused approach to work and the ability to work under pressure

Preferred skill(s):




  • Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle relational database administration experience


  • Experience with Crystal Reports or other reporting software

·         HTML, Javascript, XML,  FTP


·         Prior experience with Plateau Learning Management System is a plus


·         Education/experience in training and adult learning desired


·         1-4 years experience specializing in IT/Computer - Software or equivalent

Travel required: about 25 to 50% travel, mostly to San Jose, and Richmond, CA, and possibly other locations in the U.S.
