Position Summary:
Assist the RSLF in developing and operating the Brigade/Battalion Battlestaff Simulation Center training program for Armor Corps Brigades and Battalions. Provide pre-exercise training to staff sections conducting the simulation training. Establish and maintain close working relationships with numerous counterpart officers in command and staff positions of the Royal Saudi Land Forces (RSLF). Facilitate the implementation of the hardware and software of the simulation center. Develop training scenarios, Operations Orders and Rules of Engagement and Training and Evaluation Outlines for exercises. Provide advice on tactical scenarios, employment of OPFOR, and After Action Reviews. Assist in preparing and conduct the After Action Reviews for units participating in exercises. Reports to the Program Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the Royal Saudi Land Forces in the development and implementation of the Brigade/Battalion Staff Simulation Center.
Develop the Brigade/Battalion Staff Simulation Center Standard Operating Procedures.
Identify support requirements for the Brigade/Battalion Staff Simulation Center.
Develop and provide programs of instruction for battlestaff training.
Conduct battlestaff training.
Mentor the Brigade/Battalion Commanders in developing their staffs.
Develop a training program to train the Brigade/Battle Staff Simulation Center personel on equipment in the center.
Provide 24 hour a day support during the exercise phase of training in a simulation center environment.
Develop Operations Orders and scenarios to support company level exercises.
Prepare and conduct after action review s in accordance with established U.S. Army training practices and SWORD Project guidance.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Must be a US citizen. BS degree required, Masters in a management related field desired. Brigade Command experience required. At least 20 years experience in U.S. Army Armor operations and training or related field required. Preferably worked at the Command and General Staff College Simulation Center. Teaching experience in tactical operations subject matter in the U.S. Army training base highly desired. U.S. Army Command and General Staff College completion or equivalent required. Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Excellent writing and oral presentation skills required.
