Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, located on the North Shore of Long Island is currently seeking a candidate for a lab assistant position.

The responsibilities for this position will include the following:
• Creating a database for all supplies, antibodies, equipment, mice, etc
• Organizing all the restriciton enzymes, Qiagen and TaqMan reagents
• Creating logs of all Liquid N2 tanks and -80s
• Creating a list of common chemicals and monitoring common supplies
• Ordering lab supplies
• Receiving and organizing orders
• Shipping
• Defrosting of freezers
• Assign space in freezers/ LN2/deli case/TC incubator
• Maintaining emergency contact information for freezers
• Coordinating exit of lab members’ data and samples
• Assisting with new staff
• Coordinate annual safety training
• Updating animal welfare assurance
• Handle other duties as assigned by supervisors.   

Position Requirements:
An Associates Degree in biology or 2 years laboratory experience.  Strong organizational, communication and computer skills.
