Lab Technician
Details:
· Conduct analysis and assist in testing method development as business needs change.
· Must be skilled at preparing samples for purge & trap, GC-Mass-Spec evaluation.
· Must be able to run & troubleshoot purge & trap, GC-Mass-Spec.
· Must be able to evaluate chromatagraphs & interpret peaks as compared to a known standard, such that relative amounts of specific volitile chemicals are identified.
· Must be able to enter the data in Excel spreadsheets & plot results.
· Will be required to organize workload and prioritize samples to maximize output and meet deadlines.
· Meet QA/QC and GLP requirements and maintain a work environment that complies with client and Analytical Services safety rules.
· This position may require travel between research buildings during the work-day.
Qualifications:
· Related technical college or bachelor's degree.
· 1-4 years experience
· Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation Good oral and written communication skills
· PC skills and profiency with Word and Excel preferred.
· Must be able to run a Purge & Trap, Gas-chromatagraph, and Mass-spectrometer to identify volatile chemicals in food samples.
Preferred:
· Prefer experience to safely work with organic solvents in a hood;
· ISO Certified lab experience
