We have an excellent contract to hire opportunity for a Lab Technician in process research with a leading petroleum company.  This opportunity has a strong possibility of extending and/or converting to a hire for the right candidate!

Skills/Capabilities

·         Intelligent and motivated person that is able to quickly learn the process and equipment

o        Ability to effectively troubleshoot is critical

·         Willing/able to multitask and prioritize work.  Must be organized. 

·         Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with researchers, operations team members and support groups.

·         Mechanical expertise to perform minor maintenance and coordinate activities with engineering and trade personnel

Responsibilities

·         Tasks:

o        Catalyst formulation development

o        Working with FCC (fluid cracking catalyst)

o        Calciners

o        Spray drying

·         Will work with smaller pilot plant scale equipment

·         Will handle hydrocarbons/catalyst samples

·         Adhere and follow all safety guidelines

Qualifications

·         AS/BS in Chemistry, Biology or related science required with a minimum of 5 years of experience

·         Previous knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is a plus

·         Strong safety ethics/awareness
