Lab Technologist (CL) - Hematology

The North Shore-LIJ Health System is recognized as one of the region's largest employers and a leading provider of advanced healthcare services, with 15 member facilities located
throughout Long Island and NYC.
 
This position is in the Hematology Lab and requires working 37.5 hourly weekly from 11PM - 7 AM.
 
In this role the Lab Technologist will be responsible for:

  • The performance of  clinical laboratory procedures, examinations and other tests pursuant to established protocols

  • The maintenance of equipment and records

  • Conducting quality assurance activities related to examination performance practices and procedures that require independent judgment and responsibility.




 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. 

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field preferred. 

  •  Possession of a New York State Education Department (NYSED) license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or as appropriate to area of assignment) is required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year work experience and/or training specific to the work being done in the area noted above is required.
