A current nursing license in Massachusetts (MA) or are you eligible? Masters degree in nursing? At least Five (5) years of previous experience as a L&D Nurse? Five (5) years of experience as a L&D Manager? OR Have you ever worked for a well known teaching Hospital? Labor and Delivery Manager Director is in charge of administrative, fiscal, and personnel accountability in the department. Reports to the director of nursing (DON) Responsible for creating and maintaining a therapeutic, healing, patient- and family- centered care environment. Participates in the development, refinement, communication and actualization of the Department of Nursing (DON) Vision. Responsible for establishing and maintaining the standards of nursing care and practice. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with all disciplines and departments necessary to create optimal patient outcomes and a professional practice environment. Partners with medical leadership to set mutual goals that advance teamwork, interdisciplinary learning and the environment of care. Must have demonstrated clinical competence in nursing practice. Must possess analytical abilities necessary to organize, to supervise and to evaluate the work of others; to develop and to administer policies, procedures, budgets, and utilize current concepts of nursing practice. Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective leadership to staff, and to interact with patients, visitors, physicians, other clinical disciplines and a variety of hospital departments. Must possess both management and leadership skills to be effective with multiple levels of staff. Clinical experience will be evaluated on an individual basis by the hiring director. Previous management or leadership experience is preferred. Specialize.
