Design and implement test facility productivity, accuracy and repeatability via hardware and software improvements. Develop standardized test processes and procedures to assure consistent, accurate and repeatable results in our laboratories. The Air Conditioning Systems and Services business of Ingersoll Rand provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems that enhance the quality and comfort of the air in homes and buildings around the world. Its offerings, under the Trane and American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning brands, include energy efficient systems, service and parts support and advanced building controls.
Major Responsibilities:
* Develop standardized laboratory test methodology including, but not limited to, test set-up, data acquisition, data analysis and reports
* Check outputs of automated facilities for correctness via hand calculations and diagnose facility problems
* Design, specify, and build facility modifications and adaptations to meet specific test requirements
* Drive continuous laboratory improvements by leading projects using Six Sigma/LEAN tools
* Plan and direct verification test efforts between internal and outside labs
* Communicate project status and/or problems to management, requesting engineers and laboratory technicians
* Minimum BS in engineering required (MSME preferred)
* 3-5 years related laboratory engineering experience preferred
* Experience in project leadership
* HVAC experience preferred

* Problem assessment (diagnostics), 'triage' (priority setting) and problem solving skills
* Conflict management skills
* Results oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving overall team performance
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
* Six Sigma certification desired (if not will train)
* Experience with process control theory required
* Experience with heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamic computations required
* Must have mobility to climb stairs, ladders, and lift 30 lbs
* LabView experience preferred
* AutoCad experience preferred
* Combustion (gas furnaces) experience preferred
