Position Description:
The Volatiles Laboratory Scientist provides production, technical, and leadership support to his/her team. While the scientist participates in the operation of the instrumentation and/or data reduction, the scientist also provides a leadership role insuring that data and processes meet technical and quality requirements. This leadership role also includes the training and mentoring of staff.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Sample analysis utilizing various instrumentations including Agilent GCMS.
Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in Chemistry or related science
2 to 3 years of recent environmental laboratory experience
Must be willing to relocate to California
SKILLS:
Technical proficiency in the operation and/or theory of GC and GC/MS instrumentation is required including Agilent GC/MSD.
Prior experience with air samples is a plus.
Prior experience with SE-846 protocols, Contract Laboratory Protocols and Target/Chemstation software required.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, exhibited through initiative and the ability to be a “solutions provider".
Must be able to effectively train staff and provide a constructive team environment.
Ability to self-manage and meet project deadlines.
