Laboratory Technician

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician located in Princeton, NJ for a contract position. In this contract position you will: •    Perform general lab duties, handling biologicals, log in of samples •    Become familiar with the policies and practices including familiarity with computer systems, SOPs and LOGs that are pertinent to the employee’s duties •    Know and follow all laboratory safety policies.  Perform and document required biohazard hood maintenance.  Keep personal work area clean and share responsibilities for maintaining cleanliness of common areas and proper waste disposal.  Participate in Safety Inspections as requested. •    Log in all incoming sample shipments, including Analytic Materials and Matrix.  Assign sample set numbers •    Maintain integrity and identity of all samples through proper temperature requirements and handling procedures.          •    Check in and label samples, maintain the chain of custody records and proper sample storage.  Documenat all discrepancies and keep the PI informed. Requirements •    High School diploma; some college courses, preferably in Chemistry or      the Physical Sciences •    Strong organizational skills, strong analytical skills •    Basic understanding of the requirements of analytical chemistry
