Laboratory Technician - Production

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for
laboratory-based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording
and analyzing results. The technician will also
provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function
effectively while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety
guidelines. The role of the technician will be to support the production
department, shipping department, and lab related work. The candidate must be
able to multitask, be a self-starter, and be able to work with minimum
supervision.



 



Required
Qualifications



Associates Degree in Chemistry and lab related experience



 

  • Experience working with precious metals and
    production control highly desirable.
  • Detail
    orientated, strong commitment to safety, energetic and aggressive about
    accomplishing tasks
    .
  • Experience in the formulation and preparation of
    custom solutions and reagents for scientific staff including calculations,
    chemical handling (some hazardous) and equipment operation.
  • Maintenance of daily logs, equipment record
    books, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Navision or similar MRP system a
    plus.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office
    applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.














 



Typical work activities



  • Managing
    precise pouring of chemicals, including disposal of corrosive materials
  • Performing
    laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data
  • Carrying
    out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies
  • Constructing,
    maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring
    the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced
  • Using
    computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of
    graphs
  • Demonstrating
    practical procedures
  • Following
    and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks
  • Be
    able to lift 55 lbs
