We currently have an opening for a Lead Electrical & Instumentation Technician in our Saugus, Massachusetts Waste to Energy power plant.
Summary:
Install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, calibrate, and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and distributive control equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner. Lead, guide and direct tasks of other technicians in plant and the ability to respond when needed.
Essential Functions:
1. Monitors and maintains facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient equipment and facility operation.
2. Performs electrical preventive, repair, and calibration maintenance procedures safely and professionally with minimal supervision in accordance with Federal and State Regulations, and Company Work Rules, Policies and Procedures.
3. Leads, guides, and directs job tasks of other mechanics. Prioritize work, schedule plans, and follow up on directed assignments.
4. Initiates and completes work-orders and requisitions, and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basis.
5. Responds and reports to work during off hours when emergency repairs are required.
6. Travels to other facilities with-in the Company when technical support is required.
7. Takes proactive measures to address improvement opportunities.
8. Assists in training other employees.
9. Leads, guides, and directs those assigned to assist in the safe and efficient completion of maintenance tasks.
10. Assumes increased levels of responsibility when required or requested. Performs lesser skilled duties when required or requested.
11. Completes the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the time frame prescribed.
12. Identifies and effectively uses basic and precision measuring tools to calculate and determine lengths, surface areas, and volumes as necessary while performing maintenance tasks on a routine basis.
13. Follows standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately. Reads, understands, and applies information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
14. Works overtime.
15. Works rotating shifts.
16. Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicate clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio or face to face.
17. Anticipates typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and take appropriate action. Troubleshoots equipment, diagnose problems and repair.
Operates other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
Education/Experience:
High School or equivalent
Minimum of 8 years experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a 2nd class E&I Technician
Supervision Received:
· Perform job duties within prescribed standards. Minimal supervision necessary once varied tasks are mastered.
· Lead, guide, and direct up to 4 other Technicians.
