Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE -
The Lead Developer, Business Intelligence will be responsible for research, analysis, development and support of reporting and analytics solutions.
Daily responsibilities include designing and developing robust, user friendly applications, reports and dashboards using BI tools like Microstrategy and SAS.
Assist the business and IT teams in troubleshooting technical issues and provide guidance and support in the design and implementation of enhancements to the reports and dashboards.
Research and document best practices and standards for using our BI tools and solutions.
Support business analysts in determining needs and solutions.
Needs to stay informed on emerging technologies.
Strong decision making abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Ability to lead and mentor others.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
View software packages, products and define, prioritize, plan and implement solutions across multiple complex projects.
Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes, policies, standards and procedures.
Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects.
Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.
Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.

Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
BS/BA in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
8+ years of related experience.
5+ Years of Information Technology experience.
3+ years experience with developing applications, reports and dashboards using Microstrategy is required.
Deep, hands on experience with Microstrategy SDK programming is required.
Microstrategy certification and familiarity with version 9 is a strong plus.
3+ years experience working with data warehouses is required. Strong SQL skills are required.
Experience with any of the following technologies would be considered a plus :
SQL Server Reporting Services, Proclarity, SQL Server Analysis Services 2005/2008, SQL Server Integration Services, MDX, Adobe Flex and Java web services on Apache/Tomcat.
Excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills required. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks as needed.
