SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for providing technical and administrative support to management activities that make up the five process groups of project management, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring / controlling and closing projects.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with Engineering and Quality departments throughout the product development cycle.

·         Establish a sourcing strategy

·         Identify capable vendors

·         Generate estimates of costs and lead time

·         Coordinate obtaining quotes

·         Recommend design changes for improved manufacturability

·         Conduct Process reviews at vendors

·         Monitor progress of the procurement and manufacturing cycle and aggressively resolve schedule and quality issues

·         Update program schedules based on manufacturing progress and regularly report to management

·         Lead and coordinate other manufacturing engineers to support multiple products across a wide range of vendors

·         Lead the development of the manufacturing engineer documents, such as: Process FMEA, Control Plan and Process Flow Diagram

EDUCATION REQUIRED

Bachelor Degree or higher in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Skills:

1.       Sound Knowledge of manufacturing techniques used to produce industrial gas turbine engine components, including machine specification and definition of layout and production flow.

2.       Good understanding of metallurgy and metallurgical processes used with common materials used in industrial gas turbines.

3.       Good knowledge of inspection methods applicable to gas turbine engine components.

4.       Good understanding of the vendor base and an understanding of cost drivers in the manufacturing process.

Initial Level:

Experience (in area): 0 to 3 years

Education: Bachelor´s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English.  Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish is a plus. Must be willing to travel. Should have a working Knowledge of Siemens NX and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
