We are seeking a Lead SQL Database Developer to join a client of ours on a 6 month contract-to-permanent basis.  The ideal candidate brings strong development skills as well as leadership abilities.  2/3 of the time will be spent on hands on development with 1/3 of the time managing up to 4 other team members.  We are looking for someone who can juggle multiple projects simultaneously, has a high attention to detail and quality results, and the ability to motivate others.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience developing production quality code in a professional software engineering role.
  
• 2+ years acting in a leadership role.
  
• Ability to implement physical database objects, managing data, building/extending toolsets, extensive knowledge of T-SQL, transactions, error handling etc.
  
• Experience using SQL Server 2005 System Management Studio (SMS): Query Editor, SSIS, DTS etc.
  
• Ability to read/write schema/data models and utilize related tools
  
• Experience with performance tuning and analyzing Query Execution Plans
  
• Familiarity with Source Code Management and Version Control concepts (experience with Perforce a plus)                                                                        
  
• Experience with job scripting and scheduling technologies, such as Perl, VBScript, SQL Agent and DOS command
  
• Experience with related technologies such as XML, XSL, IIS, C# etc.
  
• A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred.
  
• Strong math and statistical background a big plus.
  
• Experience working with statistical packages, e.g. R, SAS, a big plus.
  
• Experience leading teams of 3-7 people while still maintaining individual production promises and maximizing team output.
