This position is located in our VA, Norfolk facility
Provide technical support for Integrated Voice Communication System (IVCS) equipment and ancillary systems. Technical support includes but is not limited to engineering/technical evaluations, equipment functional checks, troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair, operation, maintenance, and/or connectivity faults. Assist ship's force technicians and government personnel at assigned locations to analyze and resolve malfunctions detected during equipment operation and testing.
1. Completed technical training for Integrated Voice Communication System (IVCS) equipment. AN/SSN-6 Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI) Block 2, Block 3 Build 4, LITE and Block 4; STC-2(V); and MARCOM experience is a plus. Completion of NECs IC-4711, IC-4712, and IC-4713 is a plus.
2. High School Diploma or GED, plus technical/vocational/military training.
3. Associates Degree preferred.
4. NAVSEA certified for copper and Fiber Optic connectors is a plus.
Minimum of 6 years hands on experience in troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of Integrated Voice Communication System (IVCS) and ancillary equipment on various class ships.
Working conditions: Some portions of the work is typically performed in an industrial, shipboard, or shipyard environment, which requires proper safety precautions. The work requires moderate physical effort in the handling of materials, tools, cables, and other equipment. Must be able to carry up to 50 pound loads.
