NOTE: This position is located in the DelMar Division Pilot Maryland and Delaware Offices of the Federal Highway Administration. The duty station for this position is Dover, DE. As the Team Leader for the Planning, Environment Right of Way & Civil Rights Team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to team members in both locations. The Lead Transportation Specialist serves as the Planning, Environment, Civil Rights and Right of Way Team Leader in the DelMar Division (Maryland and Delaware Offices of the Federal Highway Administration). Although a duty station is identified, the Transportation Specialist is responsible for the performance in the two State areas. Provides leadership, interprets national policies, and advises the division office staff, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), and other Federal, state and local agencies on development of programs and processes covering statewide and metropolitan planning, environment, right-of-way, and civil rights. Insures that programs and products meet State and local needs and are consistent with National objectives. Leads assists and advises a diverse group of employees in addressing technically complex or controversial issues related to their specialty areas and to ensure effective management of the planning and program development functions. Is responsible for development of applicable sections of unit performance plan and ensuring that team meets its portion of unit objectives. The goals are accomplished through the employee's efforts or through the direction and coordination of the team. The Team Leader reports to the Assistant Division Administrator. In order to accomplish the duties of this position, you are expected to possess and demonstrate leadership attributes such as strategic thinking, technical credibility, conflict management, team building, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, service motivation, and time management skills to perform multi tasks within tight timelines.
