We currently have an exciting position available for a Lead Warehouse Clerk to train, assign work, and assist in the supervision of Warehouse Clerks. To maintain accurate inventory; safely operate a forklift and possibly drive a forklift and to perform Warehouse Clerk duties as necessary.

  • Verify new and returned meter counts on installer's truck; perform final meter count
  • Unload used meters and transport to the cross dock area
  • Provide leadership in absence of Supervisor on occasion
  • Sort and separate returned, damaged, warranty, and salvage meters to the appropriate Gaylord; document and ship returned, damaged, warranty, and salvage meters
  • Load and verify new meters on installer truck
  • Receive new meter shipments; pick and stage inventory
  • Handle minor vehicle maintenance duties such as parking vehicles at assigned location, changing wiper blades, tire inflation, vehicle washing, etc
  • Maintain integrity of inventory by recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
  • Safely operate electric sitdown forklift
  • Drive bobtail truck (up to 24-foot with lift gate)
  • May provide training to new employees and assign daily work to Warehouse Clerks
  • Monitor productivity of Warehouse Clerks
  • Keep work area clean; may be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed
  • Maintain safe work habits
  • Perform cycle counts
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance

  • Knowledge of basic computer programs and operations
  • Knowledge of basic math concepts and calculations
  • Knowledge of safe and defensive driving habits
  • Basic math skills and PC skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Pass Company Meter-Pro test
  • 2 - 4 years of high-volume warehouse experience
  • Minimum 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
  • Minimum 1 year forklift experience
  • Valid CA drivers license (regular class) and meet minimum company driving record requirements
  • Ability to accurately read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and complete forms.

  • The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods; walk, stoop, squat, drive, kneel, push and pull a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read meter displays.
  • Tools utilized: Bobtail truck, forklift, vehicle maintenance tools, pallet jack, scanner, and box cutters.
