Location:  Fairmont, WV

Salary Range:  $73,000 to $100,000/yr +12.5% Bonus


Experience:  5 to 25 years

Candidate must have experience in:

1)  Manufacturing  Plant Exp.

2)  Lean Manufacturing

Client Company operates 19 principal manufacturing facilities on four continents and employs more than 3,200 people.

Primary Function:


Drive the continuous improvement at the site level through a very strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques.  Lead initiatives for this purpose at the site with a “hands-on" approach to project management.  Efforts will include: assessment, training, communications, measurement, and incentive for all site change initiatives.  Maintain the project plan for all major activities that drive value creation through the site.  Facilitate and report on change in a planned and systematic process. 

Responsibilities:

     
Maintain the project plan for all major activities that drive value creation at the site.

      Ensure adherence to the plan through work processes and systems.

      Take systemic continuous improvement within the site to a new level – from learning to putting action plans into place as part of an overall company philosophy.  Assist in developing the appropriate systems to support.

      Work directly with site management and other site champions to ensure a consistent and effective process is driven into the sites. 

      Serve as the site expert consultant for all Lean Mfg and Six Sigma needs.

      Coordinate the training and development process for site employees that are tailored appropriately for the identified audience.

      Work with site HR to ensure incentive programs are in place to support initiatives.

      Anticipate change efforts needed when rolling out aspects of broader organizational changes.

      Encourage innovation and exploration of non-traditional ideas; propose change initiatives to address current and future site needs.

      Plan Kaizen events.

      Perform 5-S audits and follow up to ensure housekeeping gains are maintained.

      Develop mini-Kaizens throughout the plant.

      Co-ordinate the participation of maintenance and ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and expedited if necessary.

      Live in the departments just Kaizen’ed by spending the next few weeks ensuring the gains are  sustained. 

      Supervise reassignment of “found" manpower. 

      Summarize event results and communicate to site and organization.

      Follow up to ensure the gains are maintained and built upon.

      Review and maintenance of the water spider process
 
 
Education and Experience: 
      
      5+ years of manufacturing experience. 

      4 Year College Degree in a Business or Technical major; Industrial Engineering Degree preferred.
      

      

Black Belt in Six Sigma and certification in Lean Manufacturing preferred

      Demonstrated mastery of  both philosophies through two or more years of hands on project   management experience with achievement of dramatic change

      Strong leadership skills; highly respected within the organization

      Ability to systematically plan course of action to ensure the accomplishment of objectives

      Ability to coach and consult feedback and development resources to improve the effectiveness of  the site
