The Business Unit

 

Rexnord Aerospace supplies engineered high performance bearings and mechanical seals to the commercial air transport, regional aircraft, business aircraft, helicopter and military aircraft markets for use in engine systems, flight control systems, airframe structures and landing gear systems.  Our aerospace bearing and seal products consist of rolling element airframe bearings and bearing tooling sold under the Shafer® and Tri-Roller® brand names, Teflon lined polymeric bearings sold under the Tuflite® brand name, slotted entry, split ball and split race bearings sold under the PSI® brand name, self-lubricating machinable lined bearings and coatings sold under the Rexlon® brand name and mechanical seals sold under the Cartriseal® brand name.  Our global customer base includes all major engine and airframe OEM’s, as well as major Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers to the engine and airframe OEM’s and through our FAA approved repair station we support major MRO and aircraft operators with repair and overhaul capabilities.

 

Brief Description

 

The Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for driving performance improvements through the implementation of the Rexnord Business System (Lean Manufacturing), including establishing the plan that the business unit must follow to execute and generate performance improvements i.e. decreased lead time, inventory and cost. The Lean Manufacturing Manager coaches the Management team to drive the Lean culture through the use of Strategy Deployment in order to achieve breakthrough business objectives.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

·         Set the roadmap to achieve a lean manufacturing facility

·         Train teams in the lean tools that will be used during events

·         Achieve a team that drills down into the engineer and supervisor level so that each member is trained in 2 lean tools (VSM, SMED, STD WK, 5S, TPM)

·         Effective training is modified or developed to deliver necessary lean tools

·         Coach the management team through the use of Strategy Deployment in achieving breakthrough business objectives

·         Achieve AIPs and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

·         RBS culture is instilled in organization.



Job Requirements:

Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors

 

·         BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

·         2-5 years experience in implementing and applying all of the lean tools in manufacturing environment
