Job Summary

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and temperature control systems

Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and make adjustments to plant equipment, i.e., production equipment, cartoners, wrappers, conveyors, building systems, plumbing, HVAC and lighting

• Troubleshoot, repair and make adjustments to all production support equipment and systems, i.e., date coders, tape machines, elevators, checkweighers, metal detectors, stretch wrappers and coating equipment

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, electrical repairs, replacement of motors, replacement and repair of motor controls

• Maintain plant hand tools such as hand drills, pneumatic drills, grinders, saws and cutters in proper working condition

• Perform proper lubrication of plant equipment

• Assist with emergency response activities

• Provide own hand tools as required

• Attend and participate in all team meetings

• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Key Qualifications: (Entry-level)

A. Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Ability to read, write and communicate; basic math skills; working knowledge of programmable controllers, measuring instruments, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, lathes, mills, drill presses, power bands, hacksaws, metal brakes; ability to weld, stick, tig, mig, weld braze and solder

B. High school degree or GED with 3 – 5 years’ experience in an industrial setting PLC and electrical experience desired

WORK ENVIRONMENT• Varying temperatures: production floor 65-80 degrees, freezer area 18 – 24 degrees below zero, wet environment

• High noise areas

• Confined spaces

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders

• Heavy lifting up to 80 pounds

• Must be available to work overtime, extended shifts and alternate schedules

• Required to wear company-furnished safety equipment
