For over 80 years, Hammer has been a leader in services for people with developmental disabilities.  Headquarterd in Wayzata, we have locations located throughout the western suburbs in cluding St. Louis Park, Golden Valley, Minnetonka, Wayzata, Plymouth and Maple Grove.  We are excited to be expanding our services and are currently looking for experienced, dedicated individuals who have a passion for working with people with disabilities in the Edina area. 

Live-In Direct Support Professional

Hammer currently has openings for Direct Support Professionals in an Edina home that will support four individuals with developmental disabilties.

Live-in staff opportunity for the right individual or couple who will be on call from Sunday-Thursday 10p-6am as well as work direct care from 6am-8:30am. Weekends off. Great Benefits: Private Room, Semi-private bathroom, no utilities, free laundry, off street parking, and free food while working. Paid hourly for morning hours and free rent for overnight on call hours (paid hourly if needed for emergency).

The hours of are perfect for a student or someone who has a second job!

Job duties include:

    -   Provide daily supervision and skill development for people with disabilities

    -   Ensuring physical environment exceeds state guidelines and compliance standards are met

    -   Assisting with community activities and opportunities

    -   Providing medical administration and documentation

    -   Assisting with resident medical appointments and needs

    -   Providing behavioral intervention and support

    -   Client direct care

Other requirements for this position include:

    -   A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

    -   2 or 4 year degree in related field (preferred but not required)

    -  Ability to pass a criminal background check and driving record check
