Commercial Loan Assistant


 


Horizon Bank is looking to fill a Commercial Loan Assistant position. This immediate opening is in a branch location of a dynamic downtown Austin-based independent bank.  Horizon Bank offers lots of opportunity, competitive pay and excellent benefits. We are looking for a motivated individual with a spirit of teamwork to add to our loan department.


 


Job Duties:


•    Assists Loan Officers with clerical functions including faxing documents to & from customers, making copies of borrower information, filing, etc.


•   Follow credit policy & assist with gathering & organizing the customer file with supporting loan documentation needed for loan credit approval.


•    Complete loan documentation checklist, order lien searches, title commitments, flood reviews, UCC searches/filings, Insurance, etc.


•    Acquire all necessary documentation from the customer for the closing of the loan.


•    Coordinate various loan origination functions for commercial & commercial real estate loans


•    Fund disbursements & process loan for closing.


•    Prepare GL tickets on loan payments, advances, loan fees, recording & related fees, & transfers


•    Use loan software program to prepare commercial loan documents for commercial loans, and commercial real estate mortgage loans.


•    Provide excellent customer service and provide telephone support to the loan department and loan customers.


•    May perform other job duties and assist with other office assignments when needed.


 


Preferred Skills / Qualifications:


•   High School diploma or equivalent required.
•   Some College course work preferred  


•   Prefer minimum one year commercial loan assistant experience or 3 years other commercial banking experience required.  


•   Prefer experience with McCoy Myers system, or ability to work in a windows-based computer system.


•   Requires knowledge of data entry & basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft Office and Outlook.


•   Demonstrated ability to function as a committed team player & understand the latitude of the position in the department


•   Excellent customer service skills & phone skills are essential.


•   Ability to prioritize workload and ability to complete multiple tasks on schedule.


•   Strong communication & interpersonal skills.


•   Must exhibit initiative, organizational & confidentiality skills in all facets of the position.
