Loan Officer

Underwriting Assistant - Level 1

As a Quality Assurance Underwriter you will conduct full loan file reviews of newly closed loans to determine the level of quality and the adherence to corporate, agency and investor guidelines and policies. The analyst assesses the operational and financial risks related directly to the credit decision and the processes utilized in funding and closing. The review program includes analysis of underwriting, credit quality, property appraisal, closing documentation, and the reverification process. The analyst must perform written and verbal reverification of loan origination documentation. Review findings must be documented in a concise, understandable manner for written communication to line, channel and senior management.





Minimum four years underwriting experience.

Knowledge of FHA product, VA and conventional underwriting guidelines and requirements.

Knowledge and experience in using Zippy, DU, LP or other automated underwriting systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and an expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis, including both cash flow and AGI methods.

Excellent analytical and decision making skills.

Detail oriented with the ability to work in a team environment.

Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word and Excel, Power Point, Internet and Lotus Notes.

Four year college degree preferred or or equivalent work experience.
