Summary:

Verifies, compiles, and completes application information for mortgage loans

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Review residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.

·         Recommend that loans not meeting standards be denied.

·         Call or write credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information.

·         Communicate with all parties to the transaction on status updates: realtors, borrowers, sellers. Maintaining a high level of customer service.

·         Gather documentation to complete loan application package.

·         Call specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, preliminary title report and appraisal.

·         Review preliminary title report to verify property title meets criteria. Works with Escrow Company and borrowers to clear any title issues.

·         Prepares and packages mortgage loan application file for underwriting approval.

·         Prepare and mail approval and denial letters to applicants.

·         Work with borrowers and realtors to clear all underwriting conditions.

·         Prepare and delivers closing documents to escrow for settlement.

·         Record data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loan approved, canceled or denied.

·         Track and maintains a pipeline with delivery dates and follow up tasks.

·         Inputs information into automated underwriting systems and decipher/follow findings of loan approval.

·         Review and make certain loan applications comply with all regulations required for the specific loan product.

·         Re-disclose loan application per regulations if terms of loan change.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

·Strong customer service, interpersonal and sales skills.

·Good computer skills including MS Excel, Outlook and Word.

·Demonstrate high level of organization, attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.

·Ability to completes work in timely manner and perform in a high production environment.

·High school education or equivalent.

·Experience or education/training in loan processing and/or underwriting preferred

·Mortgage background preferred
