City County Credit Union of Fort Lauderdale has an opening for a Consumer Loan Underwriter at our Operations Center in Margate, Florida.  This position is responsible for underwriting consumer, credit card and real estate loan applications. 

Responsibilities include:

• 
  
  Perform detailed credit analysis on loan applications, including cash flow and collateral analysis
  
  
• 
  
  Underwrite consumer, credit card and real estate loans using established loan approval guidelines as defined by loan policy; explore all strategies to make good loans using counter-offer techniques.
  
  
• 
  
  Explain loan products/services to members (provide NADA, loan rate, pay-off information, etc. as requested)
  
  
• 
  
  Cross-sell products/services when appropriate and close sales.
  
  
• 
  
  Close loans and disburse proceeds (complete document/disclosure/form preparation for system entry
  
  
• 
  
  Responsible for initial collection of delinquent loans and/or negative accounts
  
  
• 
  
  Resolve complex real estate and auto title problems with members and dealers
  
  
• 
  
  Provide debt and financial counseling using established procedures

Requirements include:

• 
  
  Knowledge of consumer loan products/services, including real estate loans
  
  
• 
  
  Proven decision-making skills, and ability to exercise sound judgment
  
  
• 
  
  Knowledge of State and Federal consumer lending regulations
  
  
• 
  
  A minimum of five years of experience in underwriting both consumer and real estate loans is preferred.  In addition, priority will be given to candidates having experience with loan modifications/workout loans.

The starting salary for this position is $17.07-$21.35/hour, with starting rate based upon experience.  We also offer excellent benefits and an annual bonus program!
