We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Engineer .

Qualified candidates will provide strategic and tactical network optimization and variance analysis to be proactive in looking for ways to improve current operations and decrease cost in the customer supply chain.

Responsibilities

Logistics Engineer tasks will include: • Understand the various origin and destination requirements and appropriately assign the correct load at/consignee to each shipment. • Perform routing analysis at strategic and tactical levels. • Develop and maintain Standardized Work Procedures • Responsible for Network Optimizations • Responsible for cost model and pricing updates • Assist Freight Audit Group in processing of invoices as needed. • Coordinate with LLP Material Follow-up Specialists as it pertains to Transportation Planning for customer. • Act as backup to Sr. Material Follow-up Specialist and Transportation Analyst positions. • Manage work instructions and quality related issues.

Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field plus 2-5 years experience in a transportaion enviornment. Skills Required

PC literate and able to use various software packages such as Microsoft Office, Database Management and Lotus Notes. Ability to know and learn i2 Modeler, Paragon Routing Package and CEVA's & customers' proprietary systems. Excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills. Two to four years of related experience in the transportation industry. Strong analytical, deductive and organizational skills required. Proven ability to work in stressful situations, while providing extraordinary customer service when calling back suppliers and customers. Bachelor's degree in Transportation/Logistics/Engineering or related field. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram formulas and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Skill to write reports and correspondence. Skill to provide graphical presentations and data summaries. Skill to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume. Ability to analyze, format and work with large volumes of data.
