General Summary: The Logistics Manager will have direct management responsibility for the Raw Material Stores, Finished Goods, Incoming Inspection and Shipping and Receiving organizations. The Logistics Manager will provide leadership to both Supervisors and direct labor staff alike. Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment that requires focus on detail, quality, systems and adherence to corporate policies and procedures. To be successful in this role you must have excellent communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple cross-functional organizations
- Establish organizational objectives
- Track and report individual organizations progress v stated objectives (metrics)
- Ensure that corporate objectives are achieved in areas such as: cycle counting, shipping defects, operational efficiency etc.
- Negotiate contracts with logistics providers
- Ensure that the Shipping organization (working in concert with Customer Service) is in compliance with all import and export shipping regulations
- Implement and maintain a best in class systems infrastructure
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 7-10 years of increased responsibility in Operations Management
- Experience with Lean processing techniques
- Strong systems, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with government regulations a plus
- Planning background a plus
